Suddenlink Business celebra el Mes de la Herencia Hispana promoviendo el crecimiento de los negocios hispanos
Suddenlink Business is proud to join the Hispanic/Latinx community, and our nation as a whole, in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. 2021 marks 33 years of honoring Hispanic culture, paying tribute to the community’s accomplishments and recognizing its independent and resilient spirit.
Initial data released from the 2020 Census confirms the Hispanic/Latinx population grew by 23% between 2010 and 2020, compared to 4.3% for the non-Hispanic population. Hispanics now account for 18.9% of the U.S. population, roughly equating to 62 million people--or nearly one in every 5 Americans. Beyond impacting population growth, recent events have proven that Hispanics contribute to all facets of our society, including healthcare, aerospace, transportation and logistics, farming, retail, education and hospitality. The Hispanic/Latinx community is without a doubt essential to our society. Considering that Hispanic small businesses experienced a growth rate of 34% over the last 10 years, compared to just 1% for non-Hispanic businesses, they are critical contributors to our economy on the national, state and local levels.
Like all small business owners, Hispanic entrepreneurs are facing several challenges, but according to a recent study by the Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the number one obstacle to Hispanic business growth is access to financing. That's why Suddenlink Business is dedicating its October 12th Small Talks for Small Businesses event to helping Hispanic entrepreneurs learn ways to access financing for business growth.
The Hispanic Heritage Month edition of Small Talks for Small Businesses will feature a dynamic conversation with three experienced business advisors and Hispanic entrepreneurs who will focus on helping small business owners improve their access to financing for business growth, which is the primary challenge for many Hispanic entrepreneurs. The participating panelists will share their knowledge and experience to help the audience 1) identify potential sources of financing and 2) prepare themselves to successfully pursue them. The special roundtable edition of Small Talks for Small Businesses on October 12, 2021 @ 1 PM ET / 12 PM CT / 10 AM PT. About Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month has been celebrated every year since 1988. During the month, communities across the country celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation. It spans from September 15 to October 15 because this stretch of time marks the 1821 declaration of independence from Spain for 7 Latin American countries, starting with Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, and followed by Mexico, Chile, and Belize.
