Mid-Atlantic – North Carolina Highlights
To help bridge the digital divide and provide connectivity to keep students connected, as schools and students continue to adjust to a remote learning environment, the Housing Authority of the City of Greenville is able to provide internet to students through a centralized purchaser agreement with Suddenlink. Suddenlink also facilitated the housing authority's purchase of 125 Acer Google Chromebooks which have been donated to families in need of devices.
Oaks Road Academy Awarded $3,000 Technology Grant (New Bern, NC; January 28, 2021)
Suddenlink awarded a $3,000 technology grant to Oaks Road Academy in New Bern, NC where funds will be used to purchase two full Swivl Learning kits and additional chargers. These supplies will complete the school's digital classroom setup to ensure students receive the best instruction possible no matter where they are learning from.
Suddenlink provides technology for Bethel Youth Activity Center (Bethel, NC; November 20, 2020)
Suddenlink partnered with the Bethel Youth Activity Center to provide desktop computers, tables, and chairs for students to use at the center, which opened in November.
Suddenlink donated iPads to Lenoir County and Pitt County Schools to increase access to virtual classroom opportunities, connectivity, and online curriculum for students.
Mid Atlantic – West Virginia Highlights
Suddenlink donated iPads to both Kanawha County Schools and Pikeville Independent School District to help connect more students to online learning during the pandemic.
The Kanawha Valley YMCA unveiled the Suddenlink Technology Corner at its Cross Lanes Child Development Center. Suddenlink donated $13,000 for the YMCA to purchase computers, new computer tables and chairs.
Honoring Nation’s First Responders (Charleston, Beckley and Parkersburg, WV; October 28, 2020)
As a thank you to first responders, Suddenlink provided Chick-fil-A catered luncheons to coincide with Honoring the Nation's First Responders in late-October. Suddenlink fed more than 530 police and firefighters in Beckley, Charleston and Parkersburg.
